She is a graduate of the Conservatorio Superior de Música de San Sebastián. From 1993 to 2009, he worked with several international dance companies, including Compagnie Nationale de Danse, Lyon Opera Ballet, Basel Ballet, Ballet Gulbelkian and Nederlands Danse Theater (NDT), before embarking on a solo career.
Choreographer and dancer Iratxe Ansa has worked for over twenty years with some of the world's leading contemporary dance companies, including Basel Ballet, Ballet Gulbenkian, Compagnie nationale de danse (under the direction of Nacho Duato), Ballet de l'Opéra de Lyon and Nederlands Dans Theater, under the direction of Anders Hellström. Throughout her career, she has worked with such renowned choreographers as Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, Jacopo Godani, Johan Inger, Medhi Walerski, Crystal Pite, Ohad Naharin, Wayne McGregor and Alexander Ekman, among others.
In 2002, she took part in the Benois de la Danse with Nacho Duato, where she was awarded two prizes. The same year, she won the Audience Award and the Best Dancer Award at the Solo Tanz Internationals theater festival in Spain. In 2007, she received an award for her artistic career from the Spanish Professional Dance Association.
In 2013, Iratxe Ansa began collaborating with Igor Bacovich and for over 5 years, the tandem has been working around the world in areas such as choreography, dance, teaching, production and creating artworks in collaboration with artists. Their touring experience has led them to refine their approach, creating a universal language that can reach a wide variety of cultures and audiences.
To date, the duo has worked in over 30 countries and they have choreographed over 20 dance pieces, developing their own working method, called the "metamorphosis method". In 2018, the company moved to Madrid.
